Forget save the best for last

Jungwon Han, whom I knew through my preemie business, came to Incheon airport to pick us up - and drove the fairly long distance to our hotel, h along the way to see office and baby store operation. Then we picked up Colleen and he drove us to a restaurant, Yongsusan.

We had a traditional Korean meal- it was a fixed menu of at least a dozen items brought a couple at a time to our table and served to us.

Every course was wonderful. Move over, Italian food... this was right up there!

This was dessert

Possibly we had our best meal first but this was a memorable and wonderful beginning to our time in Korea! Thanks to our very gracious and generous host!

Day 1 - in the air

May not feature all the food this time like I did in Italy but just had to go on about the 1st class service..... After all I paid dearly to get all these miles that allowed us to upgrade - by letting Bill travel so much ;)

Appetizers...

Including wonderful pumpkin soup

Choice of several entrees

Plus there was a dessert cart....

Ok so after the excitement of all the amenities of business class, it still is a 14 1/2 hour flight, following a 2 hour flight after getting about 3 hours of sleep last night. But we slept a couple of hours, watched a movie, had another meal....going to gain 5 lbs just on the plane.

Guess I'll try to sleep off this meal (which they called "between meal snack")...

Great circle

It seemed so wrong to fly to Detroit and then back towards Korea but after a closer look at the great circle route - it actually makes sense. Never realized this trip would take us north of Alaska!

Business class rocks!!

There's a menu!! Dinner, dessert, mid-flight snack and pre-arrival meal.

Seat controls

Bill is not as excited, he does this all the time

Minneapolis airport

It's too early in the morning so I'm amusing myself by writing this - lucky you!

So first picture of the trip is Bill getting dressed again after going through security - one time it's nice to have hips and not have to wear a belt.

The Sky Club has been remodeled - very modern looking.

We have about an hour until we go to the gate. Bye everyone - wish you were all going with us!

Getting ready

So it's the night before - and we are not packed. One big suitcase is already half full of things for Colleen so there will be no backpacking across Korea...

The dog has gone to his vacation home where he was eagerly awaited. The little girls were watching for him to arrive. I hope they like him as well by the end of the two weeks!

So now that I tested this, I'll go eat and then pack....

Plans

Sorry - I just could not get this to work on my phone so I created a new blog for the Korea trip.
It is Distant Peaks - distantpeaks.blogspot.com and anyone who was getting emails on this site will get them automatically on the new one at least during our trip. I will also probably post links to Facebook..
